Rain or shine, it’s a good weekend to get out and about. Here are some things to do in Pittsburgh this weekend.

August Wilson Birthday Celebration Block Party

Legendary Pittsburgh playwright August Wilson will be celebrated with a birthday block party this Saturday. Held at the August Wilson House, 1727 Bedford Ave. in the Hill District, the event will include food trucks, live music, games, contests and more. There will be other live entertainment, too, including lip-sync battles and performers.

The eighth annual Block Party will feature more than 150 vendors. It’s an all-ages event that will also feature kids’ activities, including a new-this-year kids’ talent show. There will even be a best mac-and-cheese contest.

The fun will run from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday. To learn the details, visit augustwilsonbirthdaycelebration.com.

Steelers NFL Draft Party

For football fans, this weekend’s NFL draft is an event in and of itself. Even better, the Steelers are offering an opportunity to enjoy the draft with fellow sports fanatics at Acrisure Stadium this Saturday.

From noon to 5 p.m., attendees can watch the NFL draft live on the stadium’s big screen, but the team has lots more in store. The party also includes on-field activities, giveaways, locker room tours, flag football games and many more ways to enjoy the day.

Also, Cam Hayward will be live broadcasting his “Not Just Football” podcast, and special guests will join him.

Some concession stands will be open. Tickets to the general admission event are $15 for standard tickets and $5 for kids 12 and under. Learn more at steelers.com.

Art All Night

Art All Night is a free 22-hour-long event full of art, activities, auctions and performances. Running from 4 p.m. Saturday to 2 p.m. Sunday, the event is being held — for the first time — at the Crucible Building at 3011 Smallman St.

Now in its 27th year, Art All Night is a free opportunity to enjoy a marathon of an art show — and also watch artists create new pieces throughout the event, to be auctioned off on Sunday to benefit future Art All Night events.

The art is varied and comes from creators from all walks of life. No jury determines what goes into the show, so anyone can submit a piece.

Halfway to Halloween Marketplace

Even though spring has sprung, it’s always a good time to get into the spirit of spooky season. Time and Space Marketplace is hosting a vendor fair full of autumn vibes from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Monroeville Mall.

Admission is $5 for adults and free for children 12 and under when accompanied by an adult. Parking is free in the mall parking lot. The marketplace will be held across several storefronts at the Dick’s/JC Penney end of the mall’s lower level.

Local vendors will sell art, decor and more that will fit into any goth or horror fan’s home. For more information, visit timeandspacetoys.com.

Fringe Festival

Fringe Festival started in Edinburgh, Scotland, as an opportunity to showcase creatives and performers “on the fringe.” This year’s Pittsburgh Fringe Festival highlights many musicians, dancers, performers, puppeteers, artists and comedians in a wide swath of venues throughout the East End of Pittsburgh.

There are also virtual performances and art exhibitions.

The hub of the festival is the International Children’s Art Gallery at 5020 Penn Ave., where attendees can find showtimes for performances, get tickets and learn more about the festival.

Fringe Festival runs through Saturday night. For lots more, check out pittsburghfringe.org.
