About

HAEE is a volunteer organization exclusively for the educational enrichment of students enrolled in the Hampton Township School District Founded in 1992, HAEE was originally intended to supplement the core budgetary funding resources governed by the Hampton Township Board of Education. The HAEE concept was initiated by then Assistant Superintendent Paula Calabrese, who also acted as the first administrative liaison to the Board of Education but never actually served as an HAEE trustee. The first President of the HAEE was Aaron Walton, whose leadership helped craft and develop the same mission and operating principles in use today. From the beginning, the HAEE has been an all-volunteer, working Board of Trustees, whose charge is simply to promote and enhance the educational experience of the students of the Hampton Township School District (HTSD). Since inception, HAEE has raised over $400,000 to support HTSD with grants that provide enrichment programs and materials. Early fund raising efforts focused on a combination of corporate sponsors, United Way designations, and creative community events. In 1993, its 2nd full year of existance, the HAEE held its inaugural 5k Race and 1-Mile Walk, which in 2012 continued in its 20th consecutive year as the primary annual fund raising event. Fund raising sources have expanded over the years to include the Education Improvement Tax Credit (Act IV) administered by the State of Pennsylvania Department of Economic Development as well as community donors.
