Academic All-Big 12 that season. … Missed three games last season — including the Big 12 championship game — because of a back injury but was second on the team with five solo tackles in the College Football Playoff semifinal loss to Washington. … The first Texas player drafted by the Steelers since cornerback Curtis Brown (third round) in 2011.
