Romaine B. Nagel passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 8, one day shy of her 96th birthday. A 71-year resident of Ligonier, she was married for 62 years to the late Robert Nagel, who died in 2013. Born on May 9, 1928, In Pittsburgh, PA, to Nicholas and Agnes Meyer Sunday, she was the tenth of eleven children. Three brothers and six sisters predeceased her. She is survived by three children, Maxine Nagel (Joseph Kolick) of Arlington, VA, Jeffrey Nagel (Laurie Andrews) of St. Charles, MO, and Lisa Nagel of Idaho Falls, ID; eight grandchildren, Bert and Alan Kolick, Maxwell, Jaxon, and Madeline Nagel, Sunday and Alex Maust, and Dana Wolford; and five great-grandchildren, Otto, Leif, Leyla, Robert, and Selma. She is also survived by her youngest sister, Jeanne Morse; and a host of nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Independence Health Hospice and its wonderful staff for the devoted and loving care she received during the last months of her life.
