Sharlene F. Alcorn, 77, of Lower Burrell, died Tuesday, May 7, 2024, in West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was born in Natrona Heights on November 15, 1946 to the late Victor K. and Genevieve McGuire Babinsack Motosicky and was a resident of Lower Burrell since moving from Natrona Heights in 1973. Mrs. Alcorn worked as a beautician, as a teacher's aide at Bethel Nursery School for 23 years, and as a caregiver at Longwood, Oakmont, for five years. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, Lower Burrell, where she sang in the church choir and was a member of Ruth's Circle. She enjoyed bingo, Farkle group, time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, monthly dinners with her high school friends, and traveling with her husband's military group. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Gary E. Alcorn Sr.; son, Gary (Christi) Alcorn Jr. of Lower Burrell; Lisa Marie (James) Hartnett of Liberty Borough; five grandchildren, Daniel Alcorn, Miranda Kemp, Michela (Phil) Rearick, Joshua Hartnett, and Adam Hartnett; six great-grandchildren, Jonathan Kemp, Ashton Kemp, Mary Sabot, Jaxson Weifling, Noah West, and Jesse Lee Alcorn; siblings, Victor 'Pete' (Kathy) Babinsack of New Kensington, Genevieve 'Jane' Crocker of Franklin, and Clement 'Ed' (Mary) Motosicky of Upper Burrell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Jonathan Craig Alcorn; and stepfather, Clement Motosicky Sr. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at THE RUSIEWICZ OF LOWER BURRELL FUNERAL HOME, 3124 Leechburg Road at Alder Street, where a prayer service will be held at 10:15 a.m., Saturday, followed by a funeral service at Bethel United Methodist Church at 10:30 a.m. by Pastor Clint Phillips.
