A Clairton man accused of shooting a person during a drug deal in Mount Oliver in April was arrested Wednesday night in Plum.

Plum police arrested Dorian Randell Ingram, 29, after an anonymous woman said she saw him at a residence in the 100 block of Unity Center Road. The woman knew from news reports that Ingram was wanted in relation to the shooting, borough police said in court records.

The incident in Mount Oliver happened on William Street the afternoon of April 23, according to Allegheny County Police.

The alleged victim, whose gender was not disclosed, told police the next day that they had ordered $500 worth of heroin from a man later identified as Ingram, county police said in court filings.

Instead of doing the deal upon getting into Ingram’s vehicle, the alleged victim said Ingram drove about two or three blocks, pulled over and asked for the money. The alleged victim said Ingram pulled out a silver handgun, shot them once in the torso, took their money and left them lying in the street, according to a criminal complaint.

A person saw and heard the shooting, and police found several surveillance cameras in the area that were used to identify the car Ingram was driving, county police said.

Upon arriving at the Unity Center Road address, Plum police said, an officer saw a man, later identified as Ingram, run inside an apartment. When officers questioned him, Ingram said he was not Dorian Ingram, but police knew who he was from a photo in a recently published news article, the complaint said.

After initially complying, police said, Ingram began resisting arrest. He fought with officers for several minutes, and Tasers were used multiple times, police said in court records.

Ingram intentionally spit on and kicked officers as he was being arrested, police said. While being walked to a police vehicle, Ingram tried to break free and flee, according to the complaint.

While being taken to UPMC Mercy hospital for an evaluation, Ingram damaged the rear door of a police vehicle, police said.

Plum police charged Ingram with four counts of felony aggravated assault and three felony counts of assault of a law enforcement officer. He also was charged with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and institutional vandalism.

County police previously had charged him with attempted homicide, aggravated assault, robbery and a firearms possession offense.

Ingram was awaiting arraignment as of Thursday afternoon.
