GOOD BYE ROBERT Cox JEWELRY The End of an Era: Robert, Anne and RCJ Retire It is truly a bittersweet occasion to announce that after 40 years in business, I- alongside Anne, my partner in both business and life- will be retiring and closing the doors of Robert Cox Jewelry on Feb 27, 2021. Though 2020 certainly threw a number of curveballs our way, it by no means precipitated the end of our longtime station of selling and servicing the jewelry and watches of Murrysville and our surrounding communities. Our retirement marks the natural conclusion of, what our daughter, Carly, calls an illustrious time being part of each and every one of your lives in whatever small way was possible. From our humble beginnings at Flea Markets and Bike Shows to multiple flourishing mall locations, Robert Cox Jewelry has embodied the true spirit of a small business. I toiled for some time on my own and got by with a little help from my friends, until Anne came along in the 80s, making our house a home and running a tight ship to ensure that business was a place where work got done and everyone would feel welcome. My story, and RCJ's story, starts in the '60s and '70s when I was a shoe salesman with Father & Sons, moving my way up to managing and opening new locations. In a one-off conversation, I mentioned turquoise jewelry to my dear friend turned mentor, Joe Dellaria, and with $500 in my pocket to invest, I became an entrepreneur. I am sad to see it come to an end, but retirement calls! From 1984 until now we have made it our mission to bring you hometown service, selection and price - and we certainly hope that we have delivered. If we haven't, well, it's too late to let us know now, isn't it? You can tell we have had laughs to last us a lifetime, and we genuinely appreciate the role you have all individually and collectively played to provide them! Whether you came into the store as a customer or just came in to say "hi" to the dogs, we have loved hearing everyone's stories and helping them out in matters related to jewelry, life or otherwise. The moments that made it so special for me were those when someone "came in as a customer and left as a friend, Just in time.for_Valentine's Day. something Dolly, my mother would always say. Thank you all for a few great decades and please stop by to say "Hello" just one last time.
