About

The Monroeville Lions Farmers Market was established by the Monroeville Lion's Club in 1982 in order to enhance the Monroeville Community's local food movement. Alek Wozniak, from the Moroeville Lion's Club, played a very strong role in the developmental process. The Market was originally located in the Gateway Highschool Parking Lot. Due to parking lot issues, it was relocated to the Monroeville Community Park in 2011. This Farmers Market is very unique to the Pittsburgh area because the vendors play a large role in the management of the Market. This unique way of managing a market helps to ensure sales of honestly homegrown and handmade products. Our Mission The Monroeville Farmers Market is committed to providing fresh, local, healthy, and seasonal food to the Monroeville Community. We aspire to create a fun, safe and healthy community environment for shopping as well as, socializing. Our mission is to increase awareness, knowledge, and support for local farmers and other local small businesses, in order to enhance and/or sustain the physical and economic health, of not only the citizens of Monroeville, but also its neighboring communities.
