Turnout was up dramatically in the primary election, especially among voters with school-age children. You have made your voices heard. In countless conversations over the past several months voters have reaffirmed the principles of our campaigns in their own words: Listen to Our Concerns: We heard many stories from parents who struggled to get important issues addressed. If elected, we will set the expectation and example of openness and responsiveness. Be Careful with Our Money: Property taxes are one of a family's biggest bills. As board members we will scrutinize high administrative expenses and rising debt to ensure that our dollars are being wisely spent to the maximum benefit of our kids. Take Care of Our Children: Academic excellence is highly valued in our community, but so is a safe, inclusive and supportive environment in which all children can thrive. Improvements in physical safety need to be matched by a comprehensive strategy for developing emotional intelligence, supporting social inclusion, and promoting mental health and wellbeing. We believe in this community and our ability to work together, with respect for all stakeholders, to make positive changes. We ask for your support on November 5 so we can get to work building a brighter future for our children.
