Balson Distributor was founded by Nick Balson Sr. in the garage of his house on Main Street in Universal, Pa. Nick Balson Sr. worked hard to grow his business delivering to as many local bars, restaurants and clubs that he could while taking care of the local walk in trade as well. Nick outgrew his Universal location and relocated to the current location of 7921 Saltsburg Road, Plum Borough, PA, sometime around 1957. He obtained distribution rights for many different beers in his tenure: Pittsburgh Brewery products, Stoneys, Straubs, Pabst, and Koehler to name a few.Nick incorporated in 1986 and handed the reign of the distributor to his son Nick Balson Jr. Nick Jr has run Balson Beer Distributing Inc since 1986. Balson Distributor Inc still delivers to bars and restaurants and has the largest beer inventory in the eastern suburbs. Balson Distributor has over five hundred half barrels and more than thirty different brands of half barrels in stock.Balson Distributing carries thousands of brands and packages of beer to meet the demands of the many customers.
