I, Myra Tammy Miller, am announcing that I will seek re-election for another term as Armstrong County Controller. I am a resident of East Franklin Township, and was first elected in 2003. I have been employed in the Controller’s Office for 17 years; the first 5 years as an Auditor and the last 12 years as Controller. Overall I have 32 years of Accounting Experience and I am a CPA (Certified Public Accountant).
Citizens view me as the watchdog of County Tax Dollars. Over the years I have written, co-written and implemented policies (Tax Collector, Constable, Accounts Payable, Internal Audit) to help prevent waste and fraud and to foster accurate financial reporting. I run a tight ship! My duties include auditing and reviewing and continually questioning costs. The public can go to the Armstrong County website-Controller Department to see where I post the financial reports prepared by my staff and me. I have engaged in education outreach for employees for County Retirement Information. My success as a good leader, as Controller, is due largely to my very capable staff.
