Prospective Parent Question: I have heard that St. Joseph School offers quality academics. Can you give me some evidence of academic excellence at the school? Your Answer comes from Mr. & Mrs. Leo & Rene’ Bickert (Alumni Parents): Every teacher in St. Joseph’s School has done and shown how perfect a teacher they can really be based on my three children. When they left St. Joe’s to enter high school, their level of education put them on the high honor roll for 4 years. It is because of the concern of our teachers, and how they showed my kids how important academic education really is. The leadership that my son Corey is experiencing tells me that he is on his way to experiencing what his older siblings have accomplished. Prospective Parent Question: St. Joseph Parish has an excellent religious education program for families that don’t attend the school. What more will my child receive in terms of faith and spiritual development, if I choose to send him to the school? Your Answer comes from Nancy Amorose (Alumni Parent): “You ask a very good question. Religious education and faith development take time. Most religious education classes for children that don’t attend a Catholic school are held on weekly basis for about an hour each week over a nine-month period. This amounts to about 36 hours of formal religious education in a year’s time. When your child enrolls at St. Joseph School, he or she receives that formal religious education every school day for nine months. This amounts to about 180 hours of formal religious education. You can’t teach as much in 36 hours as you can 180 hours. Not to mention, at a Catholic school like St. Joseph’s, faith and spiritual development permeate the entire six hour day, five days a week, nine months a year. Prayer and Christian living at St. Joseph are a way of life.” Prospective Parent Question: As a mother, I am really concerned about the safety of my child at school. Can you tell me if St. Joseph offers a safe and loving environment? Your Answer comes from Rachel and Chris Vigliotti (Alumni Parents): After searching for the right school for our son, we decided on St. Joseph School for so many reasons. As we first entered the school, the feeling of overall love and concern for the students is very apparent. They welcomed him and made him feel like he belonged form the first day. The other parents in the school were so helpful and made our family’s adjustment so easy. The long term retention of teachers makes such a difference, this is not just a job, but love of teaching and love for our children. You can see that with every teacher and student interaction. They are such wonderful and amazing people. I feel so relieved to know that our son is in such a wonderful educational environment, as well as a spiritual environment. I would highly recommend St. Joseph School. Prospective Parent Question: I am trying to choose between sending my child to the local public school and St. Joseph School, can you tell me why I should choose St. Joseph? Your Answer comes from Julie and Marland Madera (current school parent): We looked into our daughter’s education with an open mind and also looked into public education, but were immediately impressed with the warm environment upon entering St. Joseph School for the first time. The students have a great respect for adults and their peers as well as show great manners and morals in their day to day life. The teachers all know the students in most grades by name and are personally concerned with their students’ well being. It is very nice to see this.
