Penn Hills Library CHILDREN'S PROGRAMS For the whole month of December, stop by the Children's Department to complete our "I Spy" challenge and receive a prize for doing so Move Your Body! Mondays from 1:00-1:30PM Children Birth-5 & their grownups, join us as we move our body and work up a sweat in the library! Videos on our big projector screen will help show us the moves, and we will sing and dance and have a blast! Crafternoons - Holidays Around the World Tuesdays from 3:00-5:00PM Children of all ages, join us as we learn about a winter holiday from somewhere in the world and then make a snack or craft associated with that holiday! Music and Movement Wednesdays from 10:30-11:00AM Children Birth-5 & their grownups, join us for this exciting new program. We will sing, move, dance, and make music together. Most importantly, we will have fun! Preschool Storytime Thursdays from 1:00-1:30PM Preschool Storytime is a 25-30-minute program filled with age- and developmentally-appropriate stories, songs, movement activities, and fingerplays that build your child's early literacy skills. Baby Storytime: Mother Goose on the Loose Fridays from 10:30-11:00AM Mother Goose on the Loose is a 25-30-minute Early Literacy program for children ages birth through 3 years and their grownups We'll sing, rhyme, and bounce along with musical instruments, puppets, and other props. Gingerbread House Decorating Saturday, December 10th @ 1:00PM Families & children of all ages, join us as we decorate gingerbread houses Children will have lots of decorations to choose from to make their house entirely unique and then they can take it home to eat it Winter Fest Saturday, December 17 from 12:00-3:00PM Families & children of all ages, join us for this FREE program as we make crafts, eat food, get our face painted, and have a great time. New Years at Noon Saturday, December 31st from 11:00AM-12:30PM Families and children of all ages, join us as we countdown to noon and celebrate the upcoming new year! We will have crafts, yummy snacks, games, and we will have a ball drop at noon TEEN PROGRAMS Afternoon Gaming Tuesday, December 6th and 13th and Friday, December 2nd, 9th, and 16th from 3:00-4:30PM Come by after school to hang out in our Teen Space! Play video games on our Switch or computers, hang out with your friends, get some homework done-use our space however you want. Anime Club Saturday, December 3rd from 1:00-3:00PM Watch and discuss your favorite anime with fellow fans with as many snacks as you can eat Teen Dungeons & Dragons Saturday, December 3rd from 3:00-5:00PM Join us once a month for our Teen D&D group! No prior experience playing D&D needed. Gender and Sexualities Alliance Tuesday, December 6th from 5:00-6:30PM Help us create a safe, welcoming space in the library for everyone. They also had a lifelong feud. What was fact and what was exaggerated to sell magazines? Did they really go years without speaking? Find out in this 40-minute talk that celebrates their lives and films. Bring your own Yoga Mat and will share some traditional folk tales and legends for Christmas and towel. There will be a limited number of mats to borrow Hanukkah, some comic tales, literary favorites and more. There will be a hot coco bar open at 5pm before the program, so come early and enjoy.
