Paid Advertisement Time to STOP Citizens for a Great School Ignoring the Issues with the QV High School Hilltop Proposal! The cost to construct the new facility on this site will likely far exceed $100 million, given the state of inflation. Combine that with today's higher interest rates, and the community faces tax in- creases that will hurt residents. The site costs are unknown. While the consultants estimate $20 million to solidify, there is no guarantee this will stick, and we may end up with a Walmart situation re- quiring enormous excavation while posing a risk to all neighbors below the site. The access is unsafe. The road is winding and unstable, increasing the likelihood of accidents when it snows and rains. There is also no walking or bike riding space. It would require operating on two sites with the field still off of Beaver and the tennis courts. Logistics and costs of operating on two sites is an expense and a safety issue. Zoning approval is not guaranteed as there is an outstanding appeal, meaning that all of the money spent on the project to date may be wasted.
