H The Municipality of PENN HILLS A HOME RULE COMMUNITY Two goats were eating litter. The first one found a roll of film and ate it. The second one said, "Hey how did you like the movie." The first one responded, "It was good. But I liked the book better." I am proud to say that in Penn Hills we have a number of groups who routinely gather to help clear our roadsides of litter. These groups formally organize, scheduling a time, date and place for a "litter pickup," while providing gloves, bags and brightly colored safety vests. (For safety reasons, we do not condone individual or informal pickups.) The Penn Hills Community Development Corporation ("CDC") cleans Rodi Road, the Crescent Hills Civic Association has claimed responsibility for Lime Hollow Road and part of Frankstown Road, and the Rosedale Civic Association has cleared part of Verona Road. The Penn Hills Anti-Litter Group ("PHALG"), which is led by Becky Fenoglietto and Faith Milazzo, is comprised completely of volunteers and is not dedicated to one road. Rather, the group schedules litter pickups at different locations and at various times of the year. The most recent Penn Hills Anti-Litter Group litter pickup was on April 15, 2023 and took place on Thompson Run Road.
