H The Municipality of PENN HILLS A HOME RULE COMMUNITY 8 & UNDER GIRLS & BOYS AGE DIVISION Mayor's Message By Mayor Pauline Calabrese 33 years ago, founder and Head Coach, Charles Carter, started the Penn Hills Eagles Track Club. This track club is independent of the Penn Hills School District and is open to any child between the ages of 6 and 18. This independent club is under the Three Rivers Association and is with USA Track and Field. The Eagles' website states that this program was started to help develop athletes before they get to the middle and high school levels. This developmental program teaches athletes basic skills in running, body mechanics, fundamentals, sportsmanship, nutrition, discipline, field techniques and character building. The Penn Hills Eagles offers a year-round track and field program which includes cross-country, and a preseason strength and conditioning program. The youths travel to local, regional and national venues to compete. They have traveled as close as Allentown regionally and as far as California nationally, taking hundreds of athletes to regional and national competitions since 1996. Once again, the Penn Hills Eagles Track Club has gone on the road to make us proud. The Eagles went to the State University of New York (SUNY) in Cortland, New York from July 7th through July 9th, where they competed in the USA Track and Field (USATF) Region II Championships. The Eagles brought home 6 gold medals, 3 silver medals and 4 bronze medals, along with twenty-four 4th through 8th places.
