H The Municipality of PENN HILLS A HOME RULE COMMUNITY Autumn is a beautiful time of year with the leaves turning sensational shades of green, orange, red and yellow. With close to thirty neighborhoods in Penn Hills, you don't have to drive far to see spectacular Fall foliage. Being the largest suburb in Western Pennsylvania and having been honored with the distinction of being a "Tree City USA," we have a lot of falling leaves this time of year. To help with the fall yard cleanup, our municipality has a Leaf and Yard Waste Composting Program. The scheduled collection dates are every Monday in November and the first Monday in December. All bags should be placed at the curbside on Sunday evening. (Pick Up is subject to snow fall.). Our Department of Public Works has provided the following information: Acceptable Material: 2. Leaves, garden residue (flowers and plants with no roots attached), and shrubbery and tree trimmings less than ½ inch in diameter, with no roots. Unacceptable Material: No bags over 30 lbs. No ground up leaves. Mayor's Message By Mayor Pauline Calabrese What is the cutest season? Aww-tumn. No tape or plastic bags. No boxes or other containers. INSTRUCTIONS: 1.
